What is Carbon Literacy?
Carbon Literacy is defined by The Carbon Literacy Project as: “An awareness of the carbon dioxide costs and impacts of everyday activities, and the ability and motivation to reduce emissions, on an individual, community and organisational basis.”

how does the TRAINING work?

ClimateEQ offers a day’s worth of certified Carbon Literacy learning that encompasses climate change science, context and action.

The course is delivered in 3 online sessions, approx 3 hours each session(9 hours in total).

Upon successful completion of the course, participants can be certified by the Carbon Literacy Project as ‘Carbon Literate’.
COURSE MODULES
The training consists of 3 modules
Research suggests the human brain is more likely to accept information when structured as narrative (with a beginning, middle and end). Our carbon literacy course is structured with this in mind. It describes the problem, lays out the consequences and then talks about solutions. The final element is crucial because without an option to respond to the impacts of climate change, audiences can feel overwhelmed.
COURSE CONTENT
A variety of learning styles are used throughout the course. Emphasis is placed on group enquiry to encourage learners to find their own answers and solutions. This helps to maximise engagement and participation. Course content includes:
