The carbon literacy project
The Award-winning Carbon Literacy Project (CLP) aims to ensure that every citizen receives at least one day’s worth of learning so that they understand the links between human activity and climate change while empowering individuals, communities and organisations to take action to reduce emissions of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases.
The Carbon Literacy Project is globally unique – there is nothing else quite like it anywhere. It was recognised as such by the UN at COP21, in Paris, where it was awarded as a TAP100, one of 100 worldwide Transformative Action Programs.
It is an independent project delivered by Cooler Projects CIC, on behalf of The Carbon Literacy Trust, Registered Charity Number 1156722.
The Project advocates for, facilitates, oversees and certifies training initiatives that deliver Carbon Literacy:
“An awareness of the carbon dioxide costs and impacts of everyday activities, and the ability and motivation to reduce emissions, on an individual, community and organisational basis.”
